BAG: Regular place of work decisive for public holiday bonus
Does an employee receive a public holiday bonus if they work for their employer in another federal state during a public holiday in their home federal state? Yes, ruled the Federal Labor Court (BAG) at the beginning of August (judgment of 01.08.2024, Ref. 6 AZR 38/24). The reasoning of the Erfurt judges was very simple. Every year, 10-12 public holidays give employees a small break in addition to their vacation.
