The Aurich Regional Court led the way with its ruling on 23/11/2018 and the Giessen Regional Court followed suit with its ruling on 08/11/2019. Both courts awarded the plaintiffs in their cases compensation for pain and suffering in the amount of €800,000. This is an absolute novelty, as previously the unspoken magic limit for compensation for pain and suffering was €500,000.
