Maternity protection for miscarriages - June 2025 reform
A miscarriage is an enormous emotional and physical burden for the women affected. Until now, however, the Maternity Protection Act left them without special protection in many cases. An important reform has been in place since June 1, 2025: women are now entitled to maternity protection periods, maternity pay and special protection against dismissal even after a miscarriage - depending on the time of pregnancy.
